LibertyNet Workflow

LibertyNET Workflow enables a company to perform efficient business process automation. LibertyNET's TaskFlo, a component of Workflow, enables access and approval of documents by individuals working in different roles and in different departments within the organization. Documents can be routed to a series of individuals sequentially or can be distributed to a series of individuals simultaneously.

LibertyNET has both an ad hoc and structured (rules-based processing) workflow that allows users to electronically "approve" various steps within a workflow process. In addition, LibertyNET's TaskFlo enables the originator of the task to designate whether or not the recipients of the task have the privilege to read one another's comments and/or keep the comments secure to only the initiator of the specific workflow. The system also supports e-mail notifications based on conditions such as elapsed time.

LibertyNet Application Builder (LAB)

LibertyNET Application Builder (LAB) is the key component for building and maintaining applications in LibertyNET. The toolset provides an environment for internal network administrators, partners and integrators to configure highly custom applications, with considerable granularity and control in application configuration.

LAB provides point-and-click interfaces for creating applications, requiring minimal technical expertise and no programming. All features of LibertyNET are exposed as object classes or properties, which LAB users can access in building applications.

LibertyNET consists of a number of objects or "classes" that can be used in building applications. Examples of classes include users, groups, rules templates, and folders—all of which can be created and used in the LAB to configure custom applications. Applications built in the LAB can be used in either thick- or thin-client deployments.

Solutions or application templates created using LAB can be packaged and re-used. For example, integrators or partners can develop LibertyNET templates for applications such as claims processing, benefits enrollment, and accounts payable document matching and approval.

Security administration in LibertyNET is highly flexible; it can be based on content objects, users, groups, stations and tokens, with specific rights assigned to each. LibertyNET supports multiple levels or types of administrators, such as departmental or even hierarchical sub-administrators. This is helpful for maintaining multi-department deployments.

LibertyNet WEBSERVER

For web-based access to LibertyNET, Liberty IMS provides the LibertyNET Web Server. The Web Server provides out-of-the-box user-interface templates based on XML and XSL, which can be customized to provide personalized interfaces for specific departments, groups or users. The templates allow multiple users to securely access LibertyNET services and documents, with no need for a separate publishing step.

Most of the capabilities available to users via the LibertyNET thick client are also available via the Web Server, including searching, retrieving, library services, annotations, printing, e-mailing and audit trail tracking.

LibertyNET Web Server supports considerable interface flexibility. Through the use of LibertyNET's web toolbars, users may create personalized interface templates that are similar to the look, feel and flow of a web site. System functions and user-defined functions may be added or removed on the fly, without programming.

LibertyNET Web Server also includes a "weblink" feature that allows users to send e-mails with custom messages, content and links to objects in LibertyNET. Links can be sent via e-mail either manually or from the server based on business rules. Such functionality makes it easier for LibertyNET users to share relevant information with outside parties, and to reduce the file size of e-mail messages and attachments by sending links instead.
